Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How long does it take to receive my results from a Rapid COVID Antigen test?

You will receive your results within 10-15 minutes after completing the test. Your results will be emailed and/or texted to you before you leave the site.

Q. What is the difference between a Rapid antigen test and a PCR test:

A rapid antigen test detects the presence of circulating virus in the nasopharynx area. It is a quick and reliable test however the PCR test is the “gold standard” test and is sent out to our lab and analyzed and used as a confirmatory test. For additional questions, please ask an associate prior to starting your test(s).

– We recommend obtaining a PCR test to confirm any negative Rapid antigen test.

Q. What are your testing hours?

Please refer to our testing page on our website that details all 6 locations across the midlands and their hours of operation.

Q. Is an appointment required for any test at any location?

No, My Pharmacy does not require an appointment for COVID-19 testing or vaccines. We will need a copy of your driver’s license and insurance card (if applicable) during the check-in/registration process.

Q. When will I receive my PCR results?

We strive to complete PCR testing as quickly as possible. However, due to demand fluctuations results can take up to 2 days depending upon volume of testing at any given time. Unfortunately, My Pharmacy cannot guarantee timing on PCR results.

Q. Do you test for Influenza?

Yes, we typically conduct a rapid antigen test that detects influenza A, B, and Covid-19.

Q. I need a PCR test today. Do you have a same day RT-PCR that will suffice for travel?

Yes, we do have a same day RT-PCR option listed above that takes approximately 1 hour to receive your results. This will suffice for travel purposes.

Q. I did not receive my results of my test via text or email. How to I retrieve this information?

Some cellular carriers will block text messages from coming through to your phone. You can retrieve your results anytime by visiting myrx.fetchmytest.com. As a reminder, PCR results can take 2 days before results will be visible.

Q. Is the covid test free?

All covid testing (excluding testing for travel) is billed and covered through your health insurance plan. With valid health insurance, your Covid Rapid and PCR tests are billed to your insurance with no out of pocket expense for you.

Q. I received a check from my insurance company for a covid test, what do I do with it?

In some cases, the insurance company pays for the testing and sends the payment (check) to the patient. The check then needs to be forwarded to My Pharmacy at 808 Hwy 378, Ste A Box 1, Lexington SC 29072. If you do not forward the check, you will receive a bill and forwarding information in the mail.
