About Us

Enhancing our patients lives

At My Pharmacy & Optical we not only serve the city of Lexington, but anyone seeking a personal and real pharmacy that cares about their patients. We believe patients are to be treated with focused care from an expert pharmacist and pharmacy. We strive to ensure our patients’ medications are accessible, affordable, easy to understand and effective.

Going the extra mile for our patients

Our mission is focused around our patients.  We are not a large chain pharmacy. Our staff will know you by your first name and greet you with a smile.  You will certainly see the difference between our staff and a large chain with our unwavering attention to detail.

In addition to a retail pharmacy we also provide optical services for our patients.

Brent Munnerlyn Pharmacist

Brent Munnerlyn is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he received his Doctorate of Pharmacy, graduating Magma Cum Laude and earning the title of Valedictorian for the class of 2004. As a Lexington native, Brent attended Lexington Elementary, Middle, and High School – graduating in 1998 from LHS. The majority of Brent’s last ten years were spent in corporate management of both pharmacies and opticals; however, he has always had a desire to practice community pharmacy in a way that brings hospitality and trust back to a profession that once solidly held the coveted Gallup Poll’s “Most Trusted Profession” before the transition to a predominantly corporate practice model. Brent is the proud father of 3 amazing kids: Ivy, Shelton, and Ainsley.

Alan Kaufman Pharmacist

Alan Kaufman graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of South Carolina in December of 2003 and has experienced  20 years’ in retail pharmacy focusing on patient care.  He is focused on providing expert advice and care for your family to help you live well.  His philosophy on patient care is best described by the following quotes. “Patients want to be seen as people. For me, the person's life comes first; the disease is simply one aspect of it, which I can guide my patients to use as a redirection in their lives. When doctors look at their patients, however, they are trained to see only the disease.” – Dr Bernie Seigel. “Hope is the divine motivator, if we had no hope - for a cure, for winning the lottery, for falling in love, for the end of war, for being free of abuse, or for having food, warmth, clothing, and shelter - we would have no reason to go on.”
